The Challenge

Boklua View Resort is a small, family-run retreat tucked into the mountains of Northern Thailand. Set amid forests, rice terraces, and creeks, it’s a place built on intention—from the architecture to the food to the deep care for the land and community.

But that didn’t come through strongly online.

The resort’s old website lacked high-quality visuals and didn’t reflect the true guest experience. There was no video to show the guest experience and communicate the founder’s story—one of returning home, preserving local traditions, and building something lasting for future generations.

They didn’t have very good advertising, very good photos—nothing that really showed what they had to offer. They needed video.... so we made a video.

Our Approach

Rather than create a promotional ad, Green Light Studio set out to document what makes Boklua View meaningful—to tell a real story in a way that visitors could see and feel before ever arriving.

We filmed on location over several days, working with the natural light, the rhythm of daily life, and the landscape itself. Despite weather challenges—cloud cover and rain—we stayed flexible, capturing drone footage and interior scenes when the moments allowed.

This was one of my favorite projects. The location is so beautiful. Getting to show that on film—and to see it all come together in the final product—was incredibly satisfying.

The video includes shots of the Maeng River, the original rice terraces, guest rooms, and the local kitchen. The narration, paired with English captions, tells the founder’s story in his own words: why he left Bangkok, why he came back, and why the resort is more than a business—it’s a way to sustain the community without giving up its soul.

What We Delivered

  • A 7-minute video in Thai with English captions, ideal for the website homepage and social sharing
  • Drone and on-the-ground footage of the rooms, gardens, natural surroundings, and local food
  • A personal, founder-led narrative that balances aspiration with authenticity
The collaboration with the client made the food shots special. He’s a chef, and we were able to show the dishes with real care and intention. That brought a lot to the story.

The final edit supports the core message of Boklua View: a peaceful retreat rooted in the land and the local people, designed to keep traditions alive while welcoming the world.

Client Reflections

Peter, the resort’s representative, noted the value of the video not only as content—but as connection:

Green Light Studio was extremely professional and efficient to work with. The inclusion of a highly professional video was a feature, complementing the photographs and text.

Since launching the video alongside the new bilingual website that Green Light Studio produced, Boklua View has been able to more effectively attract international travelers seeking places that a more connected experience.

The revised website is proving far more effective than our Facebook page, especially in the international market.

Quiet Marketing, Strong Impact

This project reflects a core belief at Green Light Studio: the best marketing doesn’t shout. It shows what’s real.

By filming respectfully, with attention to detail and story, we helped Boklua View speak for itself—calmly, clearly, and in a way that invites trust.

The video is now a key part of the resort’s identity online. It’s not just a tool for promotion—it’s a way for future guests to understand where they’re going and why the place matters.

A Note on the Bigger Picture

The video was just one part of the larger project. In parallel, Green Light Studio redesigned Boklua View’s website, creating a mobile-first, Thai-English platform that supports the video, photography, and storytelling with clear, modern design.

Together, these updates brought the digital presence up to the standard of the guest experience—and set the resort up for steady growth with the right audience.

Final Thoughts

This was one of our best projects. Seeing the story come together—through the food, the land, the founder’s words—it reminded us why we do this work.
